OKPUG's First Meeting
Posted June 5th, 2008 by esteele
The Oklahoma PUG will hold it's first meeting on June 23 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Coach's in Norman, OK. Since I'm still trying to gauge local interests in Postgres, there will not be a scheduled presentation. Instead, we'll discuss suggestions for future topics, Postgres interests and experiences, and tangentially related miscellany.
If you have questions, please let me know at okpug-owner@postgresql.org or by posting here. To join our mailing list, visit http://archives.postgresql.org/okpug.

okpug meeting
Glad to hear that there is a users group in this area. I hope the meeting went well last nite, could not attend as I live in north Edmond and time and distance to get to the meeting in Norman was too much of a factor. I wonder if there is a chance you could hold future meetings somewhere a little more central like Bricktown? I currently work for a state agency and have 8+ years of experience as an Oralce dba and have worked with MySql supporting Travelocity at my previous job and am currently working with some Sql Server. I am very interested to see who is using Postgresql and in what manner as I am trying to promote more open source solutions here in the state to compensate for budget shortfalls and have a keen interest in Postgresql. Again I hope the users group goes well and will try to make some of the meetings in the future
OKPUG Location
I'm glad to hear you're interested. This August, the meeting will again be in Norman, but future venues have not been chosen yet. We're definitely thinking about covering a larger portion of the metro. I'm not very familiar with possible locations for meetings in Oklahoma City, so suggestions are very welcome!
Thanks Everybody!
Thanks for the encouragement! I'm hoping things work out well. And Chander: We'll look forward to seeing you, though you may get roped into speaking... :)

Glad to see you're involved
Hi Emilie,
Kudos on starting the new PUG. I'll have to try to make one of the meetings someday :-) Though it seems like everything there always happens at Coach's!
